Chimney caps, liners and dampers in Orlando, FL.

Stainless caps to keep out rain, birds, and squirrels. Stainless flue liners for safe venting. Top-sealing dampers that lock out the Florida heat. Quoted before any work starts.

Caps, liners, and dampers

Chimney caps sit at the top of the flue and block rain, animals, and debris. Liners are the inner pipe that carries combustion gases safely up the chimney. Dampers seal the flue when not in use to prevent heat or AC loss. The Chimney Team installs all three in Orlando: caps from $425, liners from $95 per linear foot, top-sealing dampers from $489.

Caps, Liners and Dampers FAQ

Common questions, answered.

What Orlando homeowners ask before installing chimney hardware.

How much does a chimney cap cost in Orlando?
Single-flue stainless cap installed: from $425. Multi-flue cap: from $625. Animal removal (if needed): from $185 added to the install. Final quote given before any work.
Do I really need a chimney cap?
Yes. Without a cap: rain pours directly into the flue (corrodes the liner and damper, soaks the masonry), animals nest inside (block the flue, cause carbon monoxide backup), and embers can escape. Caps are the cheapest insurance against the most expensive chimney problems.
What is the difference between a stainless liner and a cast-in-place liner?
Stainless: pre-fabricated pipe, lifetime warranty, $95+ per linear foot, faster install. Cast-in-place: ceramic mortar poured around an inflatable form, sets permanently, $250+ per linear foot, used when the existing flue is severely damaged.
Do I need to reline my chimney?
Maybe. Older Orlando homes (pre-1980s) often have cracked clay tile liners. A Level 2 inspection with camera scan confirms whether you need a new liner. Continuing to use a cracked liner is a fire and carbon monoxide hazard.
What is a top-sealing damper and why is it better?
Throat dampers (the in-fireplace metal flap) often warp, rust, and stop sealing properly, especially in Florida humidity. A top-sealing damper sits at the top of the flue with a silicone gasket and seals air-tight when closed. Result: lower AC bill in summer, lower heating bill on cold nights.
Will animal removal damage my chimney?
No. We use humane catch-and-release for live animals. After removal we install the cap so they cannot return.
How long do these installs take?
Cap install: half day. Top-sealing damper: half day. Liner install: full day for stainless, 1 to 2 days for cast-in-place.
Do you service my city?
Almost certainly. We cover the full Orlando metro from two locations: Central Orlando (Winter Park, Maitland, Oviedo) and West Orlando (Ocoee, Winter Garden, Clermont, Kissimmee, Lake Nona).
